ForeSight supplements and complements manufacturers’ traditional enterprise information sources (e.g., ERP, MRP, MES). It adds value to these systems by:
- driving effective sales order fill rates, rather than manufacturing resources optimization;
- providing real-time “user guides” to individual workers’ roles and responsibilities
- standardizing work, thus minimizing wasted motion, errors and costs;
- documenting processes that may be known only to a few “heroes,” and retaining that knowledge when individuals change jobs.
All relevant shop floor and non-manufacturing processes are modeled in a proprietary process management engine. Sales order, work order and purchase order requirements are compared periodically with requirements for materials, labor, machine capacities and human resources, and potential shortfalls are identified.
Task lists are organized according to users’ roles, in the required sequences and timeframes, and reflect all dependencies among contributors’ tasks. This helps assure that users always are performing the correct tasks, in the right sequences, at the right times. Users post the status of their tasks and any relevant comments in the ForeSight portal, for real-time review by peers and managers.
